A LITTLE ABOUT ME
“What we know is a drop, what we don’t know is an ocean.” —-Isaac Newton
This line always strikes me like a bolt of lightning even today, cementing my belief in learning.
And so the word learning might pop up umpteen no of times in content below 🙂
Also- Warning: Well I might oscillate between past, present and future.
MY BELIEF IN LEARNING & IMPLEMENTATION
One look at the picturesque existence of today makes you marvel at the metamorphosis our brain has gone through. These 100 years have changed the dimensions of human existence, making one wonder- why was it a chained existence for centuries in a row? Human can fly! Wow!! Is it because of a sudden alteration of the human brain? No! It’s just that human started learning and applying more. The way we live today, even kings of yesteryears wouldn’t have imagined an existence this advanced in their wildest fantasies. If Alexander the great were to be juxtaposed with our local Shankar panwala, he wouldn’t feel all that great after looking at all the luxuries our very own Shankar has.
If you look at all the discoveries made, inspirational success stories of amazing people, one astounding fact will get noticed; these people dedicated their lives to learning and implementing. Lifelong learners are lifelong leaders. The ones who get the power that lies in this message just break the roof of possibilities and the ones who limit themselves to classroom curriculums, live in a set mould of restricted growth.
One who feels education ends after schooling should look at all achievers around and they will shout the same message- keep learning and implementing!
And today we are looking at growing our body parts, what with the whole stem cell research going on. We will soon be discarding our rusty limbs and damaged body parts for new and better ones like a bloody salamander! But here the difference is, salamander does it naturally and we would be controlling the process! Phew!! It would be like an upgrade to a brand new mustang from an old and saggy 800
Human can grow a new brain! Such immense possibilities are possible, only because of constant learning and implementation.

You are of value to me and I would like to share some of my story.
MY BACKGROUND
It was the year 2008, lowest point in my life, still remember vividly. I am coming back home and my world is falling apart, had started my own HR firm in partnership with friends in 2007, not taken a job after doing really well in my MBA. And, now our firm was about to get shut down. I had topped Entrepreneurship in my final semester, came second in class in marketing in second semester, was wired to believe that I would do well as an entrepreneur. But nobody had anticipated that recession would hit Indian shores, robbing us of our jobs. There were no jobs in the market and the whole hiring scenario had come to a standstill, our business was to go kaput!
I have always been a fearless and persistent guy, most required qualities for personal and professional success as per my perspective and in fact for success in general, however one sees it. Back in 1998, had gone in merchant navy, underwent necessary training, and got real disciplined for the domain. But my agent ran away with my money, putting me in a limbo. Nineteen of us were in touch with each other then, never got placed on a ship, lost the money our parents had invested and most importantly precious time. A few in my batch had sold lands and come from rural areas. We wasted three years, hoping to get placed with the right company. That kind of damage kind of breaks you from inside especially when people around you try to put the blame on you.
Then I cleared the entrance for hotel management and got placed in IHM, packed my bags and left Mumbai. That again was a horrible experience wherein we were getting ragged to the core, most girls and many guys left college, went back to their respective home towns. It was a batch with only two girls in our class. One can only imagine what was happening. I stood against it, fought to the core, just not the type who likes things that are unfair and immoral. I got singled out for a while as everybody else was too scared to join me. A lot of them later on joined in when they felt I was doing the right thing by standing up against what was atrocious. Maybe they later got the courage to do so. But the whole system there was a mess, not conducive to studies. So, I quit college, didn’t want to waste more of my parents hard earned money and my precious time. I later finished my graduation, took up jobs and did my MBA with a lot of focused approach. And then I become an entrepreneur only to land in the recession scenario!
Realization had hit! No matter what life will keep throwing, you will have to come out of all possible dreadful scenarios. Human spirit is meant to fight!
I started wondering, I am genuinely trying hard, fighting hard, then what is going wrong? I started to dissect everything in my life and understood a few things. You have to make the right decisions, do what you like, get the right skill sets, hone your skill sets and be of value. Two things primarily helped me to reboot-
No 1) I had been unknowingly doing this since I was a kid of 9 or 10 years of age. I used to read a lot, used to go to the school library and read. It started with comics like Tinkle and soon I graduated to a lot of informative stuff. I still invest time, effort and money on learning new things.
No 2) There is a small story here– At 15, I was hanging out with a friend of mine, putting potatoes in fire to eat them later when they are really burnt (this was before globalization hit us with malls, multiplexes, hangout places etc). My friend tells me that he is really sad about his grades since a couple of days and then he shares his mom’s advice- Do not to worry! Any of the two things are good, getting good grades or getting a skill set outside of school that gets you ahead, keep learning! It struck me, stayed with me.
I started dissecting my skill sets, focused on honing them and learning more in that direction.
DISSECTION OF SKILL SETS
Apart from working on other aspects of business, I used to brief candidates. I helped them clear interviews, provided a lot of relevant industry information, assisted in positioning oneself, search for right jobs, seek and capitalize on opportunities, grow in career, etc. And, most people really thanked me. I realized I was really good here and thought of making it one of my core competencies. Also, I loved doing it!
Even while doing MBA, I was a good speaker, wordplay and confidence came naturally to me. I used to get auditioned, get selected and compere most prominent corporate events, also had written dialogues for them. I realized I can be a really good coach, thought of making it my forte and that changed things for me. I took the bull by the horns and got out of this mess, got the firm back on its feet, been in this domain for past 13 years now. And now comes an exciting challenge of growing online as that’s where the world lives.
The reason I’m sharing my story as many while growing up go through a lot of ups and downs, not knowing what to do when things go wrong. One is constantly figuring out the meaning of life, trying to find what will work for them personally and professionally. Your quest will always have hurdles but they will always teach you. All failures teach you and mistakes are to be made, chances are to be taken. This is when you discover yourself. I followed a lot many guys, paid for their programs, got to learn a lot! Always remember, learning should never end, it teaches you a lot, helps you grow ten fold. Consistency will always beat quality, too much perfection will be enemy of success.
All experiences teach you something, make you stronger, never be ashamed, never be embarrassed, own them and let them help you to channelize energies for a better self, better path.
Some Gyaan 🙂
Planning your career is about going for what you like, positioning oneself in the best manner possible, getting in the right places{cracking interviews/right deals in business}, giving value by honing the right skill sets and most importantly being consistent.
In my journey I saw that people just out of college/post graduation and people with 2-3 years of experience are fickle minded, with myriad of things going on in their head, they tend to make wrong choices and that spoils career growth. You give them three job choices and they will be confused with all three, find flaws in all three! Most people stop learning once they are done with studies, maybe they get wired that way due to our education system and society. That should never be the case!
In fact once you are done with studies, would come your time to build yourself in the real world, get the things you want, understand things and then make right choices. If you look at all successful people from various fields like Narayan Murthy, Anand Mahindra, Shahrukh Khan, Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos, Jerry Seinfeld, etc., they never gave up learning. In fact they invested time, money, energy in it and then implemented those learning’s. If you don’t implement, you don’t exactly learn or grow, but hit a plateau.
PERSONAL & SPIRITUAL LIFE
I am married to a super woman who has always backed me up through all highs and lows. She has been working with me for past 6 years and really contributed to our growth. We always support each other in all things and thankfully have similar ideologies.
I am spiritual as a person and feel that my religious practices should not be a template. We should all respect each other’s beliefs; in fact at the risk of sounding cliché, would say that humanity should be the biggest religion as I genuinely feel that way. If we are genuinely compassionate as a race and are of service to each other, we can all have a blissful existence.
Money is not the only motivational force that drives your life; there are things much more important to ones existence. I believe in keeping a healthy mind and body for positive thoughts to come. I believe in giving back to the society and do my bit. I take firm stands on certain situations or unfair things that happen in our society and have been an action taker. I am a fitness freak, been working out since I was 11 or 12 years of age. At 15 from freehand exercises I got into weight training and somewhere in my 20s, got really interested in yoga and been following it ever since.
I like to follow certain visionaries like Sadhguru, agree with quite a few of his beliefs. I feel a change will come where people have power in their hands. We would soon see a world wherein certain boundaries that separate us as humans will disappear. The impact of social media across the globe is an indication of times to come. Each one of us has a voice that can be used for the betterment of human kind, never before did we have such platforms to exercise our rights. This revolution is a way forward for humanity. I believe that all humans should keep learning and participating in personal development because we as the most evolved species can really contribute towards the betterment of all.
MY BIG HAIRY AUDACIOUS GOAL
I dream of a balanced ecosystem wherein people are of service to each other. I am here to help people in having successful careers and ace the art of interview cracking. I would love them to succeed in their lives by doing what they like doing. I want people to make great wealth and give back to the world. I believe a change will come, people will share more and more on the internet, will empower each other. And from hereon we shall see globalization in its truest form.
